management team have decades of collective knowledge and experience in
networking and security. And with their combined expertise in diverse
aspects of the industry, they’re bringing to the Internet a new
level of security—for businesses and consumers alike.
Bob Weinschenk, President and Chief
Executive Officer
Before joining Britestream Networks, Bob was president and CEO of Pixim,
a premier supplier of innovative semiconductors and software platforms
for digital image capture and processing. During his tenure, he raised
over $55 million in rounds of venture capital financing and garnered strong
press coverage on CNNfn, KTVU, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, New York
Times, Washington Post, San Jose Mercury News, Red Herring Magazine and
Electronic Business.
Previously, he had served as General Manager of the Microelectronics Division
of Lucent Technologies, where he oversaw nearly $400 million in annual
sales and $1.3 billion in product design. Products included v.90/92
modems, DSL client solutions, 802.11 NICs, USB and 1394 adapters, and key
chipset ASICs for Apple Computer and Sun Microsystems.
Weinschenk was also the General Manager of Advanced Micro Devices chipset
organization a group he built from the ground up to a $55M/year business. In
this role he was responsible for all aspects of the business and secured
major design wins at three of the top five computer OEMs.
Bob earned his Masters of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and
his Bachelor of Engineering Degree from the Steven’s Institute of
Technology in Hoboken, NJ.
Charisse
Castagnoli, Vice-President,
Sales and Business Development
Charisse has over 20 years experience in the information technology industry,
including 12 years in developing and evangelizing computer security products.
Prior to joining Britestream, she was Director of Business Development for
Internet Security Systems Inc. (ISS), where she formed partnerships with Nokia
Internet Communications and Check Point Software Technologies.
Previously, Charisse held positions as technical evangelist for Haystack Labs,
an early intrusion detection company, and VP of Engineering and OEM Sales for
SecureWare Inc. In the eight years prior to that, she developed and managed
complex UNIX systems such as telephony systems and supercomputers.
Charisse has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science
from University of California at Berkeley, and a Juris Doctorate from the University
of Texas at Austin. She regularly participates in the annual Computer Law Conference
held in Austin Texas and has received a four-year appointment to the Computer
Systems Security and Privacy Advisory Board under the Department of Commerce.
Gordon Daugherty, Chief
Marketing Officer
With more than 20 years of marketing and sales
experience, Daugherty has implemented strategic
marketing strategies for numerous technology
companies including IBM, Compaq, VTEL and VCON.
Prior to joining Britestream, Daugherty served
as Chief Marketing Officer and President of the Americas for VCON, a developer
and manufacturer of videoconferencing and collaboration solutions. During
his tenure, revenue grew from $5M to $36M over three years and the company
executed an IPO and three successful acquisitions.
While with VTEL, Daugherty served as Senior Director of Marketing in the
Personal and Workgroup Systems division where he was responsible for
marketing and business development for the desktop and set-top videoconferencing
product lines. While at Compaq, Daugherty led the product marketing
efforts for the company’s server and networking product lines throughout
North America, which represented more than $2B in revenue.
As Britestream’s Chief Marketing Officer, Daugherty oversees both
the product strategy and global marketing strategy of the company. He
is also responsible for channel development and application engineering
and support.
Daugherty has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Baylor
University.
Oscar R. Mitchell, Founder,
CTO and Engineering
During the 21 years in which Oscar has been involved
in Computer System Architecture, Design and Development,
he has been awarded 6 patents.
As an original member of IBM's RISC System/6000 (RS/6000) Product Group, he led
the specification, design, and implementation of the Power Math Processor utilized
in IBM's RS/6000-based microprocessor computer systems. It was also at IBM where
he assisted in the creation of IBM’s of several system architectures that
were applied in various area of commercial and high-performance scientific computing
environments. While at IBM, Oscar received the divisional distinguished
contributor award for his role the development of the RS/6000 platform.
After a 10 year career, Oscar left IBM in 1994 to become co-founder and V.P of
Engineering of Skipstone Inc., which was acquired by Adaptec Corporation in 1997.
Skipstone become the industry’s leader in hardware and software technology
for IEEE-1394 (a.k.a Firewire and iLink), in fact, Skipstone’s efforts
directly influenced the creation of the first generation of ‘1394 based
consumer electronics. Most recently, he was Co-Founder and CEO of NORDview,
Inc., a company focused on designing and licensing digital imaging products,
at the 2000 Winter Consumer Electronics show in Las Vegas, the digital imaging
technology developed by NORDview earned the distinguished “Design Innovation
Award” for two of the four products in the photography/digital imaging
category .
He has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Southern University
and A&M College in Baton Rouge, LA.
Scott Perry, Vice-President,
Finance and Treasurer
Scott Perry is responsible for all finance, accounting,
human resource, legal and operational facets
of Britestream Networks. Prior to joining the
company, he was the Director of Finance for AIM
Technologies, Inc., a provider of marketing information
to the sports industry. Previously, he was a
Senior Assurance Manager in the Austin, Texas
office of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, after a
six-year tenure in the company’s San Jose,
California office.
As a significant contributor in a number of initial public offerings, private
offerings and corporate transactions, Scott's experience covers a broad
spectrum of technology companies, from venture-backed start-ups to mature
multi-billion dollar businesses in the semiconductor, software and hardware
industries.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an
Accounting Concentration from California Polytechnic State University in
San Luis Obispo, California, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
