Britestream Achieves Microsoft Security Solutions Competency and Microsoft Certified Partner Status

AUSTIN, Texas – January 23, 2006 – Britestream Networks, a leading provider of hardware-based data privacy technology, announced today that Microsoft Corp. has awarded Britestream the Microsoft Security Solutions Competency Certification. Britestream also achieved Certified Partner member status as a part of the Microsoft Partner Program. The Security Solutions Competency Certification and partnership program highlight Britestream’s ongoing commitment and efforts to provide customers with the best security solutions, including maximum SSL performance and security for the Windows Server System.

Britestream’s SSL Security NIC provides the fastest SSL transaction processing (up to 10,000 TPS). In addition to the performance benefits, the Britestream card can be installed right inside a Windows Web Server or ISA Server 2004, which helps to maximize existing rack space. Advanced security enhancements include advanced cryptographic functions plus on-card storage of sensitive private keys and certificates. Now SSL can be turned on by default for key Microsoft products such as Exchange Server, SharePoint Portal Server and Internet Information Services (IIS), with no performance impact.

“The Security Solutions Competency was designed to support our partners in developing innovative security products, services and solutions for the marketplace. Customers will see incremental value in working with Microsoft security partners like Britestream, who are dedicated to helping secure their IT infrastructure,” said Thomas Dawkins, Group Product Manager responsible for security partner strategy at Microsoft Corp.

By processing data in real time directly in the network stream, Britestream technology handles secure data—completely, autonomously and transparently—freeing up systems to handle the tasks they were designed for. The Britestream solution offers plug-and-play simplicity and uncompromised performance with fortified protection.

“The Britestream solution is the first SSL security NIC that is completely self-contained and manages all facets of SSL processing on a single PCI card,” said Gordon Daugherty, Chief Marketing Officer for Britestream.  “It is a groundbreaking new concept that is resetting the bar for Internet SSL security.”

The Security Solutions Competency is designed to recognize the unique skills and requirements of partners specializing in delivering security-based solutions. Microsoft Certified Partners enrolled in this competency have proved their skill in advanced security solutions to help protect customer information assets by building solutions such as security management and operations, security-enhanced wireless VPN and perimeter, and identity and access management solutions. Specializations within the competency include Infrastructure Security and Security Management.
