Britestream^® Enhances Product Line

New Features and Compliance with European RoHS Directive Paves Way for Sales Growth

Austin, Texas – July 24, 2006 – Britestream Networks, a leading provider of hardware-based data privacy technology, today announced that it has completed several enhancements to its product portfolio. Some enhancements are associated with a new software version 3.3 SP4 for its BN1200 SSL Security NIC while other enhancements are related to support for the European RoHS directive.

Version 3.3 SP4 of the Britestream software includes new and updated utilities, including a new graphical configuration wizard. This wizard simplifies installation in Windows or Linux-based servers by providing easy-to-follow prompts that lead installers through a basic installation process quicker. Enhancements were also added to the Britestream alert handler, including the ability to capture alerts and events directly into the Windows Event Log. As part of this release, Britestream has added native support for the PKCS12 certificate format.

Also being announced today is the declaration that the Britestream BN2010 ASIC and BN1200 SSL Security NIC are free of hazardous materials and meet compliance standards defined by the Restriction on Hazardous Substances (RoHS) European Union (EU) Directive 2002/95/EG. Effective July 1, 2006, electronic equipment vendors must comply with RoHS in order to manufacture and sell networking equipment within the EU. Other countries are also adopting legislation modeled after RoHS.

Britestream is currently shipping the enhanced software version 3.3 SP4 with new BN1200 orders and is also shipping RoHS-compliant products to countries affected by the directive.
